U209-000-R

This is another portable USB to Serial Adapter that does not required external power.

For Windows users there is no functional difference between U209-000-R and USA-19HS. This converter, however, is not for Mac users as it does not come with the driver to support Mac OS.

I tested this adapter on Asus EeePC 1215B that is running Windows 7 Home premium and does not equip with a serial port . Windows 7 has the built-in supporting driver and it is thus truly plug and play when connecting to this device. Be aware that ColorPort only supports DTP41 with serial option connecting to either com1 or com2. As for ToolCrib5.14, DTP41 works flawlessly for serial port assignment from com1 thr' com9. For reliable connectivity, only install the adapter to one of the USB port, assign it as com1, and always use the same port for connecting to DTP41.

This is my preferred adapter due to its compactness and its direct cable connection to USB port.

for Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista 32-Bit & 64-bit

  1. I have a couple questions about purchasing the "soft goods" associated with the DTP41, specifically the Color Reference. X-Rite as discontinued this model and can't sell me the kit anymore. I'm S.O.L. if I can't get something... pete@printigree.com
